ZOLL emsCharts Web 13.12

December 17, 2024

ZOLL emsCharts release 13.12 for Web contains issues that were updated for the [ ZOLL UI ] and [ LEGACY UI ]. To learn more about the [ ZOLL UI ], please watch this short video. You can try it yourself by logging into ZOLL.emscharts.com.

ZOLL emsCharts recommends that all customers utilize the new ZOLL UI (zoll.emsCharts.com) when completing charts online. While still available, the Legacy UI is not being updated with newly developed features and functionality and does not fully support NEMSIS v3.5. It is strongly recommended that Services that export to states that have converted to NEMSIS v3.5 utilize the “Force ZOLL UI Access” configuration option, as continued use of the Legacy UI when generating NEMSIS v3.5 files may result in NEMSIS errors.

New features and enhancements

Impressions

[ ZOLL UI ] [ LEGACY UI ]

We refreshed the Impressions with the NEMSIS recommended Impressions and modified the existing logic to display the Impression name with its respective ICD-10 code. You will now see the ICD-10 codes along with the name of the Impression when viewing the NEMSIS Impressions list in the Complaint Impressions Code Table.

Analytics

We updated the way that we handle variables in Analytics to ensure that they are updated correctly for scheduled reports.

Quality of faxed documents

[ ZOLL UI ] [ LEGACY UI ]

We updated the way that PCRs and attachments are generated when they are sent to the ZOLL emsCharts faxing service. These changes will improve the quality of documents distributed by the fax service, improving clarity and legibility of faxed documents.

Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale (COWS)

[ ZOLL UI ]

We added the ability to document the Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale (COWS) in the Vital Signs section of Page 8. When enabled by the Command Facility, a 'Withdrawal Scale' button is displayed on Page 8 that when clicked, will open a window to allow for the completion of a COWS assessment. The documented values will be included in NEMSIS exports.

Configuration:

  1. Command Fac.ChartPage 8 Withdrawal = Yes

  2. Command Fac.Code TablesWithdrawal Scales > check the box for COWS and click SAVE.

Data Validations for Vital Signs

[ ZOLL UI ]

We added the ability to use Data Validations to enforce the number of times a specific Vital Signs field is required to be documented per chart. Administrators can set the minimum count requirements in Data Validations by selecting the 'GT or Equal to' Operator and setting a numeric Criteria value for the following fields:

  • GCS Eyes - Count

  • GCS Verbal - Count

  • GCS Motor - Count

  • Heart Rate - Count

  • BP Systolic - Count

  • BP Diastolic - Count

  • ETCO2 - Count

  • Respirations - Count

  • Glucose (Vitals) - Count

  • Level of Consciousness - Count

  • Stroke Scale - Count

  • Thrombolitic Screen - Count

  • Temperature - Count

Custom XML

[ ZOLL UI ] [ LEGACY UI ]

We added the elements 'Last Time Known Well' on Page 3 of the PCR, and 'Narrative' on the optional Narrative page, to the emsCharts Custom XML that is dynamically generated for each PCR and commonly exported to endpoints like First Watch.

Bug fixes

Agency configured session timeout

[ ZOLL UI ] [ LEGACY UI ]

We fixed an issue that was preventing the Service configured timeout settings for user sessions from being consistently enforced for all users. These settings apply to both non-migrated (emsCharts) and migrated (ZOLL Online) user accounts, ensuring improved security and user experience by enforcing consistent timeouts on inactive sessions across all user types.

SyncPad file processing

We updated the way emsCharts processes SyncPad files to better handle spikes in volume.
